We're kicking off a new series - Meet the Experts. We're proud of our team and the incredible knowledge and skills they put to use helping you WIN your campaign or public policy battle. You've likely worked with these experts before, but we want to introduce them to you and share some of their knowledge with you.
Here are a few key tips from CHQ expert Marlys:
If you're looking for volunteers ,make sure your advocacy script contains a volunteer question. A few volunteers can make all the difference. Script writing is very important. You need to know your audience, how politics moves, and make sure the script will get you to your end goal. If you get into the race late, focus on advocacy calls, rather than Voter ID. It's important to identify how people are responding to your candidate. You can ID on question 1 and then follow up with advocacy. Use multiple closes in your script. The close should reflect how the voter has responded in the previous question. If a voter is supportive, you should give them the voting location. If they are undecided, you should lead to an advocacy close.
